About Antara

Antara is an Expressive Arts Therapist and a listed HSP-knowledgeable Therapist (For details, please visit: https://hsperson.com/therapists/).

Antara's studies in Expressive Arts Therapy led her to the subject of High Sensitivity and its accompanying research. That was followed by a transformative experience – a profound self-rediscovery that clarified long-standing past questions. Recognizing the strong connection between Expressive Arts therapy and the Highly Sensitive Trait, she delved into researching the therapeutic benefits of Expressive Arts for the mental health of HSPs, culminating in her Master's thesis on the subject. She is now on Dr Aron’s list of HSP-knowledgeable Therapists.

Beginning her mindfulness meditation journey in 2010, Antara pursued further training as a meditation facilitator in India. In 2019, she began studying singing bowl techniques and meditative soundscapes with interdisciplinary contemporary artist Man-tung Tsang. This extensive training allows her to integrate singing bowl sounds into therapy sessions when appropriate, creating a space for deeper self-exploration through sound. Drawing upon her experience, she now integrates mindfulness techniques with Expressive Arts Therapy to support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools and social welfare organizations, helping them regulate emotions, build confidence, enhance focus, and foster a greater passion for learning. Antara also provides online and in-person therapy services, as well as specialized groups and individual sessions designed for highly sensitive children and adults.

As an HSP herself, Antara deeply understands the challenges faced by HSPs and has personally experienced the transformative benefits of embracing her sensitivity. She is dedicated to raising public awareness and promoting understanding of the Highly Sensitive trait. To this end, she organizes workshops for carers of highly sensitive children and designs programs to support the mental health and well-being of these children, with the hope that more of them will receive the care they need and that their sensitivity can become a source of strength and fulfillment rather than an obstacle.
